Tapestry Folkdance Center creates opportunities for participation in the joys of dance and music from around the world. You’ll love dancing at Tapestry! No partner is needed to dance in this safe, family friendly, alcohol-free environment. Our facility is accessible to those with disabilities. For most classes, no experience is necessary and beginners are welcome! You can pay at the door: no pre-registration required (unless specified otherwise for special events).
Community Contra on Saturday, October 29 – Costumes Welcome
With Halloween just a few days away, this Saturday’s Contra dance is likely to feature some ghoulish finery (though a costume is not required). Beginning dancers, you won’t need black magic to learn the dance steps. Come for the lesson at 7:30 and then stay for a fun evening. After the dance, head over to Merlin’s Rest (East Lake & 36th Ave) to socialize. It’s a Community Contra so band members and callers will come from our very own talented Tapestry community.
Community Clean-up Day, October 29, 9 am
Tapestry is the beautiful inviting place it is because of the care provided to our facility by many volunteers. This Saturday, the Center is having a clean-up day to do a deep cleaning of the facility. Many hands make light work and a few hours of volunteer help will bring you both good karma and good pizza! Clean-up starts at 9 am and ends at 1 pm with lunch from Parkway Pizza. Join in, make new friends and enjoy a beautiful, clean dance space.
Member Meeting – November 5
Members (and anyone interested in becoming a member), we hope you can attend the annual Member Meeting on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7 pm. There will be a brief program with updates on Tapestry activities, an overview of our financial status, and a review of our goals for the coming year. Questions, comments, ideas, are welcome. It ends with an ice cream social.
