Farewell to an Old Tapestry Friend – John Tallaksen
It is with deepest regret that we share with you the passing of a friend and community member. At Tapestry, there are many friends and acquaintances of John Tallaksen & Linda Olson, active on the Tapestry board and who also played Cajun/Creole fiddle at the Eagles, Homestead, and at many other old-time music venues. John was a lover of music and published the monthly newsletter, Cajun Spotlight Notes & Steps, for more than 22 years.
John passed away on September 27, shortly after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Linda reports that he received excellent care and support throughout his brief illness. An obituary with more details of John’s life can be found in both large papers this week.
