Tapestry Folkdance Center is located in a beautiful, bright, 100-year-old building in Minneapolis’ Longfellow neighborhood. Our studios have sprung wood floors and are airy and welcoming. To rent studio space for dance or movement programs, please see our Rentals page.
Large Dance Hall (266 max occ.): Approx. 4000 square feet, featuring sprung wood floor, one wall with mirrors, two walls with extensive windows for ample natural light, DJ sound system, separate space for a band, benches, tables and chairs for resting.
Tapestry is an alcohol free facility. Food and drink are not allowed on the dance floor (with the exception of water in enclosed containers). Food can be served in the kitchen space, which includes a sink, microwave, fridge and a beverage vending machine. If your group uses the space, please clean up and wash any dishes you use. The Center does not have a dishwasher.

Tapestry’s entire facility is located on the ground floor, with no stairs or ramps. There are two handicapped parking spots in our adjacent lot. A unisex restroom is equipped with a wide doorway and grab-bars to accommodate wheelchairs. Tapestry can provide training and materials to patrons with special needs, and we maintain a list of contacts for interpretive services for the hearing impaired.
Tapestry continues to promote accessibility for all those desiring to participate in the organization and its programs. Tapestry periodically reviews its programs to insure that people of all abilities are able to participate.
To enhance visibility:
- Font size is adjustable on each page of the website, by clicking the A-, A, A+ buttons.
- Lighting can be increased in the dance studios; please alert the House Manager
- Colored sashes can be worn by dance instructors to make their movements clearer; please alert House Manager or instructor
- Tapestry’s entrance, hallways, studios and restrooms are handicap accessible
