June minutes were approved.
Executive Director’s report:
Review and update Board Member contact information
Promotion opportunities: 9 Nights of Music; Fringe Festival Show (Hi, Hello, Namaste) presented by Bollywood Teacher, sponsored by Tapestry (by providing practice space & prop storage space)
Committee Review & committee member update. Discussion ensued to clarify committee membership vs. communications sent to additional interested parties. In addition to committee members, there may be other interested persons who would like to receive committee relevant information. Committee Chairs: please inform Mary and Staff so that additional interested persons can be included on email communication.
Review and discussion of Nancy & Tom Riley letter (member meeting, mailed paper schedule, MN Country Dance Co-op weekend) Discussion ensued – we need additional information in order to address their request for a weekend dance event. Gordon has offered to talk with the Rileys to obtain additional information.
Financial Report: (Mary)
We reviewed financial statements for FY 2014. We ended the FY with a positive balance.
Election of officers:
President: Marc Scovill;
Vice-President: Carole Wilson;
Secretary: Claudia Graebel Beermann;
Treasurer: Barbara Beltrand.
Marc, Carole and Mary have been authorized by the Board to sign checks (Western Bank and U.S. Bank accounts)
Donor party: (Carole):
Last year’s donor appreciation party was very well received. Carole proposed to organize another
event to thank this year’s donors. The event will be hosted on October 19th at Tuvia’s apartment.
Donors who have donated a minimum of $250 dollars, or Sustaining Members with a $20/month
contribution will be invited.
Tapestry Membership meeting and Community Potluck: (Claudia)
Date for annual membership meeting & community potluck: September 20th in the small studio
Claudia & Roger Schaffhausen are organizing this event.
Some volunteers will be needed for set up & cleanup.
Advertising of the event via
email to members,
website announcement and
announcements during dances.
Volunteer recognition event: (Claudia)
Claudia proposed a volunteer recognition activity.
Carole, Claudia & Tuvia will work towards creating a proposal.
Ideas brainstormed thus far include food, a gift and/or a special program
Tapestry Dance Norms:
Final review of document.
Contact information for the Board added in case of questions or concerns.
Mary & Staff will print copies to be available during dances. Comments will be discussed by the Board and considered for possible amendments.
10. Committee report:
The Marketing Committee is discussing information to be distributed at the State Fair.
