Directions to Tapestry, 3748 Minnehaha Avenue :
 | From the North: Go
south on I-35W and follow the posted detours to State Highway 280, then take
I-94 westbound to Cedar Avenue (just past the Mississippi River and Riverside
exit). Turn left onto Cedar and follow to the entrance to Hiawatha Avenue
(take care to avoid Minnehaha Ave at the fork -- Cedar bears to the right).
Follow Hiawatha (East S.H. 55, going south) which you take to 38th St. Go
left three (3) blocks to Minnehaha Ave. Turn left until you see Tapestry on
the left (about 3 buildings north of 38th St.). Look for a red building with
a green awning on the left.
From the Northeast: Go west on 94 to the Riverside Exit. At
the top of the exit, go straight across Riverside Avenue to the next stop
sign (Bruegger's Bagels will be on your right). Turn left and follow
this street, 25th St., south. It turns into 26th St. and after you
cross Lake Street, it turns into Minnehaha Ave. After you cross
Lake Street, go approximately 7 blocks south. Look for a red building
with a green awning on the right. |
| From the south: Go north on Highway 55, which is Hiawatha Avenue,
until you get to 38th St. Turn right onto 38th St. and go three blocks
to Minnehaha Ave. Turn left or north. Tapestry is located
approximately 3 buildings north on the west side of the street. Look
for a red building with a green awning on the left. |
| From the West: Go east on 94 to the
Hiawatha Avenue exit (Highway 55). Follow this exit until you connect
with Hiawatha East, which you take to 38th St. Go left three (3) blocks to
Minnehaha Ave. Turn left until you see Tapestry on the left (about 3
buildings north of 38th St.). Look for a red building with a green
awning on the left. |
| From Downtown Minneapolis: Go eastbound
on 8th Street South (one way street) to the Hiawatha (Hwy 55 East)
entrance. Follow this entrance until you connect with Hiawatha, which
you take to 38th St. Go left three (3) blocks to Minnehaha Ave. Turn
left until you see Tapestry on the left (about 3 buildings north of 38th St.).

PARKING: There are several small lots which accommodate parking
for most events. There is one located just south of the building,
(entrance off of Minnehaha Ave. or the alley off 38th St. just before the flower
shop). Two additional lots are located on the east side of the street just
across from Tapestry. The lot with the wrought iron gates is available for
all Tapestry events. The lot next to Carlson's Cycles is available only
when the bike shop is closed - after 7 p.m. There is also parking
available in the 38th St. Flowers Shop lot after they close. These businesses
are good sports about letting us park there. Thank them by patronizing them.
Carlsons tel. no. 612-729-5113. PUBLIC TRANSIT INFORMATION: Yes,
there are busses to Tapestry. All Service runs late so dancers without personal
transportation may now rely on public transit !! Fares for Light Rail are the
same as for buses, $1.50 after 6:30 pm, $2.00 during rush hours. The latest
printed schedules are available at Tapestry.

The LIGHT RAIL Line is #55, 3 blocks to the west of our location, on Hiawatha
Avenue.
BUSES ---
--- #23 - last bus leaves the corner of 38th Street & Minnehaha westbound at
about 11:15 pm, eastbound at around 11:35 pm, 7 days a week. Excellent for
people who live in the Uptown area (Lakes district), in south Minneapolis near
38th Street, or in the Highland Village part of southwestern Saint Paul.
--- Minnehaha Avenue is now served by #27. Service still runs past midnight in
either direction, 7 days a week.
--- The 38th St. LRT Station is also served by service on route #19 and on
selected route #14 trips (every other bus). Of course, trips to and from the
Station still require a 3 block walk to Tapestry, unless a #23 happens by...
