In the hours when Tapestry's beautiful studios are not being used for Tapestry programming, we desire to make them available to a wide community of dancers, movers, and more at accessible prices. We hope to build a diverse community of care, where people from many different backgrounds, experiences, dance styles, and traditions can intermingle and find a path to thrive. With unvarnished sprung hardwood floors, state-of-the-art HVAC system, free parking, and more, our large or small studio are perfect for teaching dance, choreographing, rehearsing, yoga, somatic practices, hosting movement sessions and music concerts, and more! 

Tapestry recently rolled out an updated rental process, contract, and policies, effective for all rental dates starting July 1, 2024 and onward. All renters are required to have a User account with Tapestry’s new booking system. To request user access, please fill out THIS FORM. This form only needs to be filled out ONCE to gain access to the booking calendar. After we've received your form, you will receive an invitation within 72 hours to book your own reservations using Tapestry's booking calendar, Skedda (https://tapestry.skedda.com/). Once you receive a booking invitation, you will be able to manage most reservations and cancellations on your own. Please reference the Rules & Regulations document for booking and cancellation timelines.

Additional Fees:

• One-off Rentals will also incur a $30/hour staffing fee. 

• One-off Rentals  with 35+ attendees will be charged a $75 space cleaning fee. 

• ​Special event (weddings, fundraisers, nontraditional dance studio usage) rental pricing will be determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the requirements of the event. ​

DETAILS ABOUT OUR FACILITY 

• Parking - There are two free parking lots, one adjoining the building and one directly across the street. ​ 

• Lounge area - counter, sink, small refrigerator, microwave, 3 round tables 

• ADA Accessibility - Tapestry Folkdance Center’s entrance, hallways, studios and restrooms are handicap accessible, with no stairs or ramps. Two handicapped parking spots in the adjacent parking lot.  

• HVAC system offering 100% fresh air up to 12 times per hour when ceiling fans are running. 

​TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS 

• Light Rail:  Tapestry Folkdance Center is near the 38th Street light rail station on the Blue Line located at the intersection of 38th Street South and Highway 55 in Minneapolis, MN.   

• Bus:    Tapestry Folkdance Center is located on Route 7.  The closest stop is at Minnehaha Avenue South and 38th Street East just outside our doors. 

• Bicycle:  Bike racks are available at the front of the building along Minnehaha Avenue. 

Tapestry Folkdance Center has the following regulations:

• No alcohol, candles, incense, or bikes in the building.

• No STREET SHOES in the studio. ONLY WATER can be used on the floors. No other substances can be used on the floor, including (but not limited to) rosin, tape, powder, or cleaners.

• No food or beverages in the studios. Water in a closed container can be taken into the studios.

• The use of  aromatherapy or  materials such as glitter, etc. that could create a greater mess or linger in the studio space, affecting other users, is prohibited unless cleared in writing with Tapestry Staff ahead of time.

• Tapestry is an alcohol-free, marijuana-free, and smoke-free facility.

• Firearms and controlled substances are prohibited.

• Abusive or foul language, harassment or physical assault will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the premises and termination of any rental agreement.

• No proselytizing for religious or political purposes is not permitted.

• Some Tapestry members and renters are hypersensitive to fragrance. Please come fragrance-free.
