We encourage you to be an active part of Tapestry Folkdance Center's Community - We Can’t Dance Without YOU! Volunteers have been keeping this organization strong for 40+ years, and is a great way to get connected to others in our dancing community.

Here are some of the roles volunteers fill at Tapestry…

GOVERNANCE

  • Join the Board of Directors


AT DANCES

  • Admissions – 1 to 2 hours a dance and then you can dance the night away.

  • Greeter – Be at the door to say hello and share announcements, then as you dance the night away be available to answer questions.

  • Opener – 1 to 2 hours a dance. Open the door, dust the floor, and check rooms are ready to go.

  • Closer – 1 to 2 hours a dance. Tidy up after the dance and secure our lovely space as you leave.

 
ADMININSTRATION

  • Set-up Volunteer Sign Up Genius schedule – 1 hour per month.

  • Help with filing and other office organizational tasks.

  • Research grant opportunities.

 
STRETEGIC PLANNING

  • Edit Volunteer Handbook.

  • Assist in training Volunteers.


HISTORY PROJECT

  • Help with interviews and archiving historic materials.

 
COMMUNITY OUTREACH 

  • Assist establishing partnerships with community groups.
