Ann Mosey, Executive Director
Email: amosey@tapestryfolkdance.org
Ann Mosey began her career as an arts administrator on the front porch of her childhood home – she would organize the neighborhood kids to put on a show, sold tickets, used that money to buy concessions, sold those at the show and used that money to pay the performers with ice cream cones.
As a dancer in New York City, scholarships from Alvin Ailey and Merce Cunningham studios set the stage for performances throughout the U.S. After dancing professionally for over 15 years, Ann began teaching at colleges and universities, co-published state arts standards, and presented papers at national dance conferences. Simultaneously, with a full teaching scholarship, Ann received an MFA from Ohio State. Ann was then honored with a full teaching scholarship in the PhD Arts Administration program.
For the last 15 years Ann has been working as an arts administrator in community-based organizations. Most recently, Ann established MN Council of Nonprofit’s administration training program in 11 counties in SE MN. Ann also facilitates non-profit organizational and governance trainings. Further, while co-founding an arts advocacy agency, an art gallery cooperative, a film fest, a sculpture park and directing an arts center that produced over 500 live events a year, Ann has continued dancing.
